Digital Learning Solutions for Young People in Myanmar

The first year of the Norec Exchange Program has now come to an end. The purpose of this three-year project is to make digital learning solutions easily available to young people across Myanmar.

Despite the devastating situation with the coup in February, Zabai has been able carry out the project and the progress are good.

The Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (Norec) is an executive body under the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Norec supports exchanges between Norway and countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The mission of the Norec-project is to support youth with educational content, therefore, continuing our project during this difficult time for the youth of Myanmar is particularly important.

We are thankful for the support from Norec, and we will continue developing the project even if the circumstances are challenging.

We are currently in the process of finishing our course ‘Covid-19 for Teacher’ in Swahili. The course is also available in English.

Last year we worked together with Save The Children to produce a course on Covid-19 to be distributed amongst teaching staff. The course was then translated to Burmese, Portuguese, Levantine Arabic and Spanish.

The course is based on WHO info and looks at: how to identify symptoms, ways the virus spreads, how to prevent contamination and what measures you can apply in school.

We have updated the course to comply with current information and guidelines from WHO (the World Health Organization).
